Medium carbon steel with enhanced performance

Unalloyed carbon steel, characterized by a good compromise between mechanical strength and toughness when supplied in a quenched and tempered condition. The quenching and tempering process allows to obtain better mechanical characteristics than in the natural state, making the C45 suitable for the production of medium-stressed mechanical components. It is widely used for shafts, pins, levers, tie rods and general purpose structural particulars.
