Environment and sustainability
Concrete responsibility, ongoing commitment
Process efficiency and waste reduction
- We use closed-loop systems to reduce water consumption and minimize chemical dispersion.
- We constantly monitor energy consumption and raw materials, optimizing production cycles for efficiency.
- We apply material recovery and recycling practices where technically possible.
Responsible waste management
- Industrial waste is managed in full compliance with the Legislative Decree 152/2006 (Environment Code), relying exclusively on certified operators for treatment and disposal.
- We are attentive to the traceability and proper storage of hazardous substances according to the requirements of ADR.
Regulatory compliance and voluntary commitment
- We operate in accordance with key European regulations, including:
- REACH (EC 1907/2006), for the safe use of chemicals
- RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU), for the limitation of hazardous substances in materials
- Our environmental management system is being adapted to the requirements of ISO 14001, to ensure a structured and certifiable approach to sustainability.
Sustainable innovation
- Our treatments, such as ISOCROM®, are designed not only to deliver high technical performance, but also to significantly reduce environmental impact.
- The new nickel plating line was built with eco-efficiency and safety criteria, also helping to improve working environment conditions.
MODERCROMO carries out its industrial activity within the framework of an Integrated Environmental Authorization (IAA), pursuant to the Legislative Decree 152/2006 and subsequent amendments, which regulate systems with a high environmental impact. As the owner of A.I.A., the company is subject to an authorization system that integrates all environmental matrices (air, water, soil) and requires the adoption of the Best Available Techniques (BAT – Best Available Techniques), defined at the European level. This entails the obligation to maintain and demonstrate compliance with specific emission limit values in the atmosphere and in water discharges, the proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, as well as the preparation of periodic and documented environmental monitoring plans. The authorization also imposes self-monitoring procedures, flow traceability, chemicals management and the adoption of preventive measures to avoid major accidents or environmental contamination. MODERCROMO’s commitment in this context translates into rigorous and transparent environmental management, which ensures regulatory compliance and the long-term sustainability of its work.
